Construction Site Leader and Carpenter

 
Reports to the Director of Construction
 
The Construction Site Leader and Carpenter oversees all aspects of the onsite house construction for Habitat for Humanity Mississippi Capital Area (HFHMCA) building including supervising and instructing volunteers in construction tasks and maintaining a safe and productive environment.  The construction supervisor is also responsible for quality control throughout the build process and the efficient use of materials.
 
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should have experience in residential construction. They must be able to work with large groups of volunteers by instructing, supervising and directing multiple construction tasks through all phases of house construction. They should have good communication and interpersonal skills.
 
Work week is primarily Tuesday – Saturday.   Weekday tasks may involve all phases of residential construction and preparing sites for the Saturday activities with volunteers.

Construction Property Specialist

 
Reports to the Director of Construction
 
The Construction Property Specialist will oversee maintaining and securing HFHMCA’s housing inventory including boarding up and handling appliance removal and ongoing monitoring while property is vacant.  The property specialist will also handle warranty list calls and maintain the warranty list; participate in the HFHMCA Do-It-Yourself class; assist on the construction site as needed; assist in critical repair site evaluations and inspections.  
 
Qualifications:  
-3 – 5 years hands on construction experience and home repair experience.
-Capable of working with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
                -strong oral and written communication skills
