Assistant Manager of Construction
 
Reports to:  Director of Construction
 
Primarily responsible for the management and oversight of the NRI and Preservation Program projects which include critical and minor repairs and rehabs.  Support the Director of Construction in all aspects of leading the construction team including managing work assignments and performance of construction supervisors as well as volunteer engagement and safety. Also responsible for resale walk through process to determine the scope of work list for resale properties.    
 
Duties include:

• Apply for building permits, water and sewer taps and any other regulatory requirements for building
• Manage the sub-contractors awarded the site, foundation, termite, and driveway work.
• Prepare material take off for all resale rehabilitations.
• Prepare scope of work for Preservation Program and NRI critical repair programs
• Manage the implementation of the weatherization program
• Special projects relating to construction as specified by the Construction and Executive Directors.
 
 
Required skills:
• Strong construction management experience and knowledge of construction practices
• Ability to work across multi-department lines for successful expediting of the construction process.  
• Strong computer skills including project management tools
• Ability to motivate and manage diverse staff
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
 
Minimum Qualification:
Education and experience:  Bachelor’s degree ideally in the construction related discipline and five years related work experience.

Construction Site Leader and Carpenter

 
Reports to the Director of Construction
 
The Construction Site Leader and Carpenter oversees all aspects of the onsite house construction for Habitat for Humanity Mississippi Capital Area (HFHMCA) building including supervising and instructing volunteers in construction tasks and maintaining a safe and productive environment.  The construction supervisor is also responsible for quality control throughout the build process and the efficient use of materials.
 
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should have experience in residential construction. They must be able to work with large groups of volunteers by instructing, supervising and directing multiple construction tasks through all phases of house construction. They should have good communication and interpersonal skills.
 
Work week is primarily Tuesday – Saturday.   Weekday tasks may involve all phases of residential construction and preparing sites for the Saturday activities with volunteers.

Construction Property Specialist

 
Reports to the Director of Construction
 
The Construction Property Specialist will oversee maintaining and securing HFHMCA’s housing inventory including boarding up and handling appliance removal and ongoing monitoring while property is vacant.  The property specialist will also handle warranty list calls and maintain the warranty list; participate in the HFHMCA Do-It-Yourself class; assist on the construction site as needed; assist in critical repair site evaluations and inspections.  
 
Qualifications:  
-3 – 5 years hands on construction experience and home repair experience.
-Capable of working with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
                -strong oral and written communication skills
